Here's some important information for fans as the Carl Sandburg College baseball and softball teams jump into their 2021 spring seasons.

Can fans attend home games?
Yes! We are excited to announce that fans will be welcome at Sandburg home baseball and softball games at the William “Bill” Hungate Baseball/Softball Complex. However, spectators will not be allowed in the areas stretching from dugout to dugout, meaning fans must watch from the outfield part of each baseline or beyond the outfield fence. This is done to ensure that players from both teams are able to social distance in areas outside the dugout.

Do I have to wear a mask?
In accordance with CDC guidelines, you are not required to wear a mask unless you are within 6 feet of another person who lives outside of your home. However, we encourage fans to wear a mask at all times and practice social distancing to reduce the risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19.

What about road games?
It is up to each institution on if they will allow spectators for their home events. A breakdown for each school's policy for each sport is available on the Region IV website, or check with the host school beforehand for their policy on fan attendance.

Where can I find a schedule?
Updated schedules and rosters for each team can be found on sandburg.edu.

Will I be able to watch games online?
At this time, there are no plans to live stream home baseball and softball games. For road games when we are aware live streams are available, we will share links on Facebook and Twitter. You can also get live play-by-play, scoring and statistics for both Chargers teams through GameChanger.

What if I can’t follow along?
Sandburg has partnered with SportReporting so that fans can get Chargers scores delivered straight to their phone and email for free. Once a game result has been submitted, the score will be sent by text message and/or to your inbox. It takes only a minute to sign up, and additional details can be found here.

Where else can I get Chargers news?
The Sandburg Athletics Facebook page and Twitter feed are your No. 1 place for Chargers info. Be sure to like and follow them for announcements, photos, videos, game recaps and more.
